We believe that a gambling addiction should be treated with the same urgency as a substance use disorder or a physical health disease. You don’t have to have failed at Gamblers Anonymous or outpatient counseling before attending Algmus. Regardless of where you’re at in your struggle with gambling, we want to help get you on the right path.

We serve men and women across the country from all walks of life and all types of gambling addiction including (but not limited to):

  • Sports betting

  • Poker & Blackjack

  • Slot machines

  • Stock trading & cryptocurrency

  • Online games

Our experienced therapists, psychiatrists, and certified gambling counselors work with clients to help them uncover the root causes of their gambling so that they can build their lives back up.

Beyond daily group sessions and individual therapy with a primary gambling therapist or counselor, clients will have the opportunity to participate in alternative therapies, and day trips to surrounding areas like Sedona.

Taking the opportunity to get away from one's home environment can be extremely beneficial for the gambler. Removing oneself from the stressors of everyday life and having uninterrupted time to devote to their recovery can be crucial in the healing process.

At Algmus, we recognize that treatment for gambling disorder needs to be individualized, which is why we offer a female-specific focus for our female clients. Our mission is to create a safe environment for women that allows them to slow down and begin healing the effects of addictive gambling on them, their loved ones, as well as friends and employers.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has led to the sharpest ever increase in women seeking help for addiction, and over the past year, 3,005 women contacted the GamCare helpline. While both men and women can develop gambling problems, they tend to present themselves in different ways.

Gambling addiction is not something that only affects men. Being able to participate in female-focused gambling treatment can help address the process addiction of gambling, as well as any underlying mental health issues that the client may be experiencing in her life.
